yes, i think that words can deter war. Threats can, Insults can, and several other things can.

i think words can start war and conflict.

Anonymous said...

language cannot promote a complete war because that kind of war cannot be justified. words should not be a reason to kill a lot of people

I think that words can start war, but not big ones. Just wars between families or a few people

i think words can start war and conflict

I think that words can start conflict sometimes more than actions

Anonymous said...

i also agree with olivia

Anonymous said...

Sometimes insults can even start wars

Anonymous said...

yes i think that words can deter wars.

i agree with scott- words can start conflict, but they can be solved by words before they can turn into wars

Anonymous said...

war is an opinion

if words can start a fight, I think they can start a war. Maybe not directly, but they can start violent situations.

Anonymous said...

yeah... im with scott

livi. war of words can be resolved. have you ever heard of guidance counselors.

war is an opinion

Anonymous said...

yes words can start wars but they cant start them directly because after words actions must follow

Anonymous said...

ya it can, but it depends more on how the other person can take the offense, if someone has trubble taking an insult than it could start a conflict easier than if someone was just like ok and let it pass

Anonymous said...

TO LIVI
what kind of war?

Anonymous said...

i mean war

Anonymous said...

okay just stop with the opinion thing

Anonymous said...

i agree with major completly

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

WAR IS AN OPINION

opinion=noun
war=noun
iceburg=noun

so by substitution, opinion=iceburg=war=say, solar powered flashlights

Blackmailing is words, that can start a war.

Anonymous said...

sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me

-what a lie

Anonymous said...

Scott words cant start a full out war but they can cause conflict so i partly agree with you

Anonymous said...

Of course words can amount to war or cause conflict. It is so blatantly obvious that this is true, because if you add just one word to a sentence then the sentence becomes offensive. For example, "I love that person!" "I hate that person!" Ok so because the person who talks first feels strongly about their opinion, so by the second contradicting them they may be offended and could there fore cause conflict.

words can be hurtful and make me cry

Anonymous said...

i agree with lindsay pretty much, words cant start wars, they can start conflicts. Conflicts can lead into wars though

Anonymous said...

mean words hurt my feelings

Anonymous said...

blackmailing is more than words

Anonymous said...

it feels bad when people use hurtful words

Anonymous said...

i dont like when people make me feel bad with mean words

Anonymous said...

no one says gaybo.....

Anonymous said...

I think that hurtful words aimed at you are hurtful but it may not seem hurtful when you are saying it. You need to step inside the other persons shoes

Anonymous said...

if someone called me gay i would say "why yes i am happy"

Anonymous said...

Mean words hurt

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

i like the way you think james

Anonymous said...

words can start pretty much anything. but they are just representing someone's feeling towards something. you cannot blame language for wars

Anonymous said...

people tell me mean things and i dont cry then ...but i do on the inside
